The Start of My Wine Journey

My journey into the world of wine (other than being an avid drinker!) started a few years ago when a family member suggested I attend some wine-tasting classes. The goal was to gain a basic understanding of wine and meet like-minded people. I signed up for WSET Level 1, and it all took off from there. I've since gained my WSET Level 2 and 3 qualifications and Level 1 Assessment of The Academy of Cheese!

Having attended many wine-tasting events over the years, I noticed that very few offer both learning and fun in a relaxed, informal setting—especially one where you can enjoy wine in the comfort of a familiar space with friends. Not everyone who joins these events is a “wine expert”; some come for the fun, food, and laughs, and that’s exactly what makes it special. Based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, I’m available to travel to locations in the West Yorkshire area and possibly further upon request to bring the event to you!

I’ve always loved how food and wine can work together to create an incredible experience. Whether it’s a restaurant meal or a home-cooked dinner, the right pairing can elevate any dish. I’m still amazed at how well fish and chips pair with a glass of fizz —seriously, try it!

Master the Art of Food and Wine Pairing

When faced with a wine menu in a restaurant, it’s often hard to choose a bottle—especially if you haven’t even decided on your meal yet! But with a few basic rules on food and wine pairing, your dining experience can reach a whole new level. Reach out to me for more information on my events or to host an event.
